The alto saxophones used were: Selmer Supreme, Yamaha 82Zii, B&S Medusa and Buffet 100. (In case you were wondering, I have owned a few Mark VI in the past so I am familiar with their qualities.) Getting used to playing it: If you are an experienced player, it takes a while to acclimate to this saxophone.

Saxophones made in Taiwan have gotten bad reviews from professionals here in the U.S., but the Selmer AS42 is worth a good look. Play it for yourself. I would feel comfortable playing it over my Mark VI. This is not a student horn.

Hi, I walked into my local Brook Mays today, and I tried out their Selmer Artist Limited Alto (with a "Big Bell"), and I was quite satisfied with the sound and intonation. It was definitely the best saxophone I had tried their in a variety of price ranges, including the Yamaha 62II and the Selmer Super Action 80.
