Apr 12, 2020 · Seraphina Martin. Seraphina Martin studied printmaking at the National Art School in Paris. She has taught at the Sydney University Art Workshop for 20 years. Seraphina was the recipient of the Moya Dyring Studio at the Cite des Arts in Paris in 1988 where she studied Viscosity colour printing method at the Atelier 17 under notorious master printer William Hayter.

Seraphina Martin combines the legendary animals of India with imagery from gardens, domestic and wild. Sensitively hand coloured, the prints show an innocent and fruitful world. The non toxic technique of Solar Plate etching is entirely appropriate for this gentle theme as it uses the sun to etch photosensitive plates, avoiding the acid used in traditional etching.
