However when I try sending the design to my Artista 180 machine I get the message that the serial port is engaged. on COM1, COM2 AND COM4, COM3 says there is no link to serial port. Re: Error- Serial port is engaged! Help me Pleeeeease! You may have already tried this..but try disabling your internal modem in Device Manager and Palm software (Hotsync, if you have a Palm-Just end the task)..That's 2 common devices that cause COM port trouble with special devices..

Aug 22, 2009 · The exact problem is that I am unable to access my wife's electronic sewing machine (Bernina) from my computer. The Bernina software tells me that all of the four COM ports are engaged. It was suggested to me that I install a USB card. I have done this and the card is working, my mouse plugged in to the USB port on the cards works.
