Situated in Bao’an District, Guanlan Print Village or “Guanlan Original Printmaking Base” as it is also known, is an interesting area where traditional Hakka homes merge with a fairly new artist village.

Winnie Davies led us on an expedition to the "artists' village" about 45 minutes east of Shenzhen. We were greeted into the village by an enormous sculpture of a hand holding a paint brush that rises into the sky. We then wandered the streets of what seemed more like a city rather than a village.The lanes and streets are crowded with replicas of the masters, decorative work and some original painters.
