BIO/STATEMENT: Shizu Saldamando’s work uses portraiture as a means to assert agency and reclaim representation for her subjects, who are her friends and fellow members of the Chicanx creative community in Los Angeles. Shizu Saldamando was born and raised in San Francisco’s Mission District, and currently lives and works in Los Angeles.
