Simon Manby. Sculptor, born in Buckinghamshire 1942, son of R.M. Manby, an architect of Anglo-Scottish descent, and of Judith Da Fano, a distinguished Lakeland artist. He was brought up in Newcastle-upon-Tyne and the Lake District and was a pupil at Gordonstoun.

Simon Manby was born in Buckinghamshire to a family of artists, raised in the North, studied sculpture at Edinburgh College of Art and since 1968 has been settled in North Staffordshire. Since 1972 he has practised as a freelance sculptor, in earlier years working mainly in stone. For the last 20 years his sculpture has been modelled in clay for casting in bronze.
