Mar 30, 2016 · Typical uses of the the field would be to change the Sort Artist/Album Artist/Composer to *Bach, J.S.* instead of *J.S. Bach* to have his entries sorted under B instead of J. To override the default behaviour, e.g. if you want "The Four Seasons" sorted under T instead of F then simply type the full original text into the sort field. tt2

Of course you should be able to sort within an artists's albums that you have in your library AT THE ALBUM TITLE LEVEL alphanumerically and by date of release at a minimum. I usually listen to an artist by album (old or new).

May 04, 2014 · Album Artist/Album/Year means that the albums will be put in alphabetical order before any year sorting is applied, which is not what you want. You can either create a custom sort order (see the Sorting & Grouping link above), or you can do it manually by clicking the top of Artist column, then holding Ctrl and clicking the top of the Year column.

It sorts by Artist, then Title name alphabetically. Since I typically listen to quite a bit from an artist, this gets really annoying trying to pick songs to play, since I have been looking at the standard of Artist, Album, Track, instead of Artist/Title(Alpha).
