PIERRE, SD – The South Dakota Arts Council has awarded $422,800 in grants supported by the National Endowment for the Arts through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act to 60 arts and cultural organzations throughout South Dakota. Artist Fellowship applicants must be a South Dakota resident for at least two years prior to applying (prior to March 1, 2021) and remain a resident through the end of the grant (June 30, 2022). If you are a past recipient of an Artist Fellowship, you are not eligible to apply for an Artist Career Development grant and may not apply for ANY artist grants for a three-year period.

The South Dakota Arts Council encourages Touring Artists and Sponsors to work together to negotiate an event/program cost that works for both parties. The Arts Council will waive the Sponsor’s required matching funds of up to 50 percent of the program costs if the Touring Artist agrees.
