Dec 30, 2009 · Squeezebox sets one artist sort per artist, so it came across the compilation and set the sort to Various instead of BT or Faithless (Doesn't seem the best way IMHO). Clearing the problem compilation FLACs of this tag resolved my second issue.

Jan 15, 2011 · This has been really bugging me, I hope you guys can help. Let's say I have a various artist album called Compilation Disc 1. On this album I have a track by The Smiths, and a track by The Raincoats. When this is properly tagged and scanned by SBS, I can search under artists The Smiths and see all of their CDs, as well as the Compilation Disc 1, which has their appropriate track.

I have some Various Artist collectiosn which are tagged under Album Artist as Album name and they are also listed as individual albums for each track. The odd thing is that not every track gets listed either. My benchmark for Volumio is what I used to get from the original Slim Devices Squeezebox User interface and search facility.

Apr 12, 2010 · I would set it to something meaningful, like the actual album artists name. Even if thats the same as Artist. In some cases i might have an album with some Artist tags slightly different, such as when there is a guess artist featured. So i set AlbumArtist to the main artist. If you dont, Squeezebox Server will list it under Various Artists anyway.
