Darryl Gaston was neither “just a barber” or “just an elder” or “just a community leader.” To describe him that way is an affront to his Maker. Darryl was one of those people who lived out his baptismal vows to the point of changing the world.

The Starving Artist logo is a picture of this painting before it was finished. “The Beginning” is a 12″ x 12″ oil on canvas and is one of my very first attempts at oil painting. It has flaws, but I consider this piece the beginning of my love for abstract art as well as the start of my blog.
