Goldstein has been described by Denver’s art critics as a multifaceted artist who in addition to creating many photographic and photo-based bodies of work, has successfully made sculpture from antique office supplies, addressed a variety of political issues using collage and installation and explored mixing materials to make new imagery.

Growing up in the Catskill Mountains of New York state, Susan Goldstein formed a love of the outdoors and crafts. After receiving her masters degree at Tufts University in Educational Counseling, she took a ceramics class on a whim and has been working with clay ever since.
