Born in Montreal, QC, Susan was introduced to the arts at a very early age learning to draw from her father. She continued to develop her own style by studying various techniques and worked extensively in printmaking, primarily monotypes, then in oil pastels/mixed media. She won the Oil Pastel Society, Sakura Award of Excellence and recently Artist of Distinction in ArtAscent Magazine.

Susan Ross – Artist Biography. Susan Ross was born on June 3, 1915 in Port Arthur, Ontario and died there in 2006. In 2002 she was awarded the Order of Canada in the Visual Arts. Ross was a printmaker, illustrator and painter, best known for her portraits of Native and Inuit peoples. Her work is valuable both for its artistry and for its historical significance since she captured many images of a passing way of life.
