Blunt is a designer and artist, and is best known as a portrait painter, for which she has traveled widely for international commissions. In 2002, Blunt was invited to participate in an international competition to create a portrait of The Queen for the Royal Canadian Mint. Her portrait was chosen, and is featured on all coins minted since 2003, with The Queen, at her request, portrayed for the first time without a crown.
