Geoff Dyer was born in Hobart, Tasmania. He has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions nationally and internationally since 1970 and is represented in many major collections, both in Australia and overseas. In 2003 he was awarded the prestigious Archibald Prize for his portrait of Tasmanian writer and environmentalist Richard Flanagan.
