May 19, 2011 · The standout painting for me was The Blue Night, Venice by Scottish painter Arthur Melville (1855 - 1904) which is part of the Tate's permanent collection. Melville is my new favourite watercolour painter after I saw the splendid paintings he had in The Glasgow Boys exhibition at the RA.
