Born in Fillmore, CA on Nov. 29, 1900. Hinckley studied in Los Angeles at the Otis Art Institute. By the late 1920s he had a studio in Santa Barbara and from 1936 to 1961 operated an art gallery in Fillmore, CA called the Artists Barn. Hinckley died there on July 28, 1987.
