Jun 20, 1994 · The Bird Artist is a mystery, but an unusual one. In most mysteries a crime is committed early in the story (or maybe even before the story begins) and the reader knows that eventually there will be a solution and perhaps even a confession. But this isn’t what happens in The Bird Artist. In fact, the novel employs a plot device popularized by a TV series.3.8/5

The Bird Artist by Aden Jile followed the story of Jessica a bird expert as she becomes involved in a case of murders and bird abductions. I enjoyed the pace that the details rolled out in this book. The reader is introduced to the characters at a logical pace at points in the story that felt natural.4.3/5

When I ordered "The Bird Artist" I was expecting something in the order of Wayne Johnston's books with lots of Newfoundland background. This was completely different and I really didn't enjoy it very much. The story was centered in one small town and the people who lived there.
