Listening back to their early stuff, The Great Escape Artist sounds exactly like where Jane's Addiction should be after twenty years. Although their pulled-back version of Just Because on Jools Holland back in 2003 (or whenever) gave a hint at where they might one day go, I doubt if most people would have predicted it.
