By 1982, United Artists had run the Riverside Theatre into the ground for many years. The original 3-manual, 13-rank Wurlitzer theatre pipe organ barely worked as did few of the light bulbs in the five auditorium chandeliers (three of them traditional confections of crystals, but the others are odd but beautiful ‘banjo’ shapes in front of the organ screens).

May 24, 2012 · News About This Theater. May 23, 2012 — Celebrating the Original STAR WARS on its 35th Anniversary. The Mill Road Theatres opened in 1970. Jim Rankin had in his notes for seating 1,101, 1,102 and 1,104. I found another listing at 1,102. The theatre was located in the Mill Road Shopping Center. The theatre closed in 1999 and is now a Gold Star Store.

May 07, 2010 · When United Artists removed their local offices from the surrounding building in 1987, it was thought the end was near, but local businessman Stewart Johnson, owner of Creative Services International, purchased the theatre in 1991 and has done remodelings and restorations for what is now mostly a local live acts venue.
