The earliest mention I’ve found of the United Artists in San Jose is from the November 24, 1951, issue of Boxoffice, which names a number of movie stars scheduled to appear at a benefit premier to be held at what the item calls “..the new United Artists Theatre….”

Comments Built in the early-1970’s, the theater was a fourplex which was first-run for the first half of its life, until a number of other chains built complexes nearby. The theater became a dollar house in the early-1980’s, which it remained until its closure in 1990. It was demolished the following year.
