William Cook Jr. Kwakwaka'wakw. William (Billy) was born in Alert Bay at the northern tip of Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. His heritage is of the 'Namgis, Ma'amtagila and Mamalilikala tribes. Billy and his brother Rande are both artists. Their interest in art was spurred at an early age by their grandfather, Gus Matilpi.
