Yuri Pimenov was the classic of Soviet art, who created paintings such as ”Let there be heavy industry!” (1927), “New Moscow” (1937), “Wedding in the street of tomorrow” (1962). He was an outstanding painter, a graphic artist, and a scene painter. Pimenov studied at the Higher Art and technical Studios in Moscow. In 1920s he was one of the organizers and ideological inspirers of the society of Easel Painters.
